Abstract

Cataluna ha sido pionera en la cuenca Mediterranea en la utilizacion del control biologico de plagas en cultivos horticolas. Los primeros protocolos de utilizacion de enemigos naturales para combatir plagas empezaron a aplicarse a finales de los anos 70 en los invernaderos de tomates de las comarcas del Maresme y el Baix Llobregat (ambas en la provincia de Barcelona), de la mano del IRTA.
